They understood the importance of promoting a society where we are recognized more for our similarities than our differences.

Thousands of people pledged to do their part to end the stigma against people with disabilities!

TAKING THE PLEDGE WAS EASY.

People signed an electronic petition in support of ending stigma. Also, people were encouraged to include an action they would take to help put a stop to the stigma against people with disabilities.

I promise to encourage others who I work with on my job at JFK Behavioral Health Center to be proud of themselves for seeking treatment to enhance the quality of their own lives. I work at a CIRC program so I have many encounters with our participants from serving them coffee in the morning to facilitating WRAP groups and teaching a storytelling class to help them see how they can use their words, thoughts, feelings and humor to help themselves and encourage others to do so.
