We are excited to share a new publication, “Two Years of Stories and Outcomes: Office of Developmental Programs Intellectual Disability/Autism (ID/A) Supportive Housing Pilot”.
Background
In February 2024 The Housing Subcommittee of The Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Program’s (ODP) Information Sharing and Advisory Committee designed the Intellectual Disability/Autism (ID-A) Supportive Housing Pilot. The purpose of the Pilot Program was to develop and test processes and policies to support accessible, affordable, and sustainable person-centered housing options. The Housing Pilot is available in 10 counties. It provides financial assistance and individualized services to participants in the Home and Community-Based Waiver programs.
Our Role
The Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (PADDC) partnered with ODP to support the work. We engaged with participants, families, providers, supports coordinators, county officials, and state leads by:
- Hosting meetings with participants and families to provide a space for them to talk, ask questions, and share experiences.
- Hosting meetings for Supports Coordination Organizations and Housing service providers.
- Collecting survey data from all stakeholders.
- Tracking questions and drafting Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents.
- Holding focus groups with professionals.
One outcome of our involvement is the new report. It includes powerful stories from the participants in the Pilot program. It also holds information about program structure, participant outcomes, provider perspectives, and the program’s partners.
