We Count: Disability Voting Rights in Western Pennsylvania
September 15 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Event Navigation
People with disabilities have fought for decades to secure greater access to voter registration, polling places, voting systems, absentee and mail-in voting, voter assistance, and other parts of the electoral process. Important progress has been made, but barriers to full and equal participation remain. Together, speakers and panelists will explore disability voting rights and advocacy, polling place and transportation barriers, institutional voting, mail-in voting and ballot curing, voter assistance, enforcement challenges, and practical ways to strengthen voting access. The program is intended for people with disabilities, advocates, service providers, nonprofit and community organizations, public officials, and anyone interested in disability rights, voting access, and civic participation.
