Hosted by Human Engineering and Research Laboratories (HERL) at University of Pittsburgh: Getting to Equal Presentation/Accenture

Disability Inclusion Consortium’s fourth quarterly meeting of 2021 will be hosted by the Human Engineering and Research Laboratories (HERL) at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Rory A Cooper, PhD will lead with remarks. Rory A. Cooper, Ph.D. earned B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1985 and 1986, respectively. He earned a Ph.D. degree in electrical & computer engineering with a concentration in bioengineering from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1989. He is FISA & Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Professor and Distinguished Professor of the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology, and professor of Bioengineering, Physical Med & Rehab, and Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt).

Laurie Henneborn, Managing Director at Accenture, a leading global professional services firm will present findings from the “Enabling Change” study (see link below). Based in New York, Laurie leads global research and thought leadership development in the Accenture Research organization that is focused on raising awareness and taking actions pertaining to disability inclusion and equality. To that end, she led the research for the “Enabling Change”. Laurie sits on the board of directors for the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and on the Global Disability Inclusion Advisory Council at Accenture. Laurie is especially passionate about coaching and mentoring colleagues with “invisible” or non-apparent disabilities – drawing from her own experience since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004.

This presentation will appeal to the following participants: Executive Leaders; Talent Acquisition Professionals; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Managers; Supplier Diversity Professionals; Human Resource Professionals; Disability Owned Business Enterprises (DOBE); and Service Disabled & Veteran Disability Owned Businesses
