5th Annual Disability & Change Symposium: The End of Disability? Peril or Promise – Philadelphia
March 26, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Event Navigation
The so-called “End of Disability” has been a long-standing mantra for medicine and often repudiated by disability studies scholars and others who question the desired “end” and the implication of disability extermination or erasure. Do these new technological developments bring something new to the debate?
About the Disability and Change Symposium
The annual Disability and Change Symposium, facilitated by the Institute on Disabilities, was first introduced in 2013.
The Symposium is an outcome of collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Faculty Council on Disability whose mission is “to foster collaboration across Temple University on disability-related projects including research, teaching, programming, publication, and grant-seeking. By connecting with one another, Council members help build community among the growing number of people at Temple whose work engages with disability.”
The event is free, accessible and open to the public. Registration is required.
Organized by the Institute on Disabilities at Temple with support from the Interdisciplinary Faculty Council on Disabilities.
