The Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council (PADDC) is accepting applications from agencies that are local and nongovernmental, and private non-profit groups concerned with services for people with developmental disabilities that are interested in having a seat on the Council.
Established through the federal DD Act, statewide Developmental Disabilities Councils are mandated to be comprised of people with developmental disabilities or their family members (60%), state agencies (representing labor and industry, education, human services, aging, and health), sister agencies (Disability Rights PA and the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University), and a private non-profit group and an agency that is local and non-governmental (currently seeking nominations).
The applicant organizations should:
- Serve people with developmental disabilities in Pennsylvania.
- Share and support the values and mission of PADDC.
After the two organizations have been selected by the Council, each will be required to appoint one person to represent the organization as a member of Council.
For more information about PADDC, please visit www.paddc.org. To apply, please complete the application and return according to the directions. The deadline for submitting applications is June 1, 2021.
