DESCRIPTION:DRP’s series of fact sheets on the Rights of People with Disabilities in an Emergency include: 1) Evacuation Plan Inclusion and Accessibility; 2) Effective Notification and Communication for People with Disabilities; 3) Access to Shelter and Temporary Housing; and 4) Access to Healthcare\, Social Services\, and Recovery Services.\n\nDRP is hosting a webinar on May 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon that will cover the legal rights of people with disabilities in emergency situations\, including topics addressed in DRP Emergency fact sheets.  Participants will also receive practical advice about how they can educate themselves about emergency preparedness plans in their community and advocate to address any shortcomings

DESCRIPTION:in 2018\, the Pennsylvania Developmental Disabilities Council funded projects to change this and to compel systemic change through individual experiences that demonstrate the power of resources being directed by the person with the guidance and support they need to find and make a home of their own. This webinar will feature people with lived experience and the professionals who support them sharing their stories and highlighting challenges and the importance of collaboration. Panelists hope to spark ongoing discussion and shared learning about the shift from provider owned and managed housing. \nJoin NCAPPS for an interactive session on one state’s journey to ensure people with intellectual and developmental disabilities find their way home.
