DESCRIPTION:LEARN ABOUT FINDINGS VIA THE “ENABLING CHANGE” REPORT BY ACCENTURE \nDisability Inclusion Consortium Quarterly ZOOM Meeting \nHosted by Human Engineering and Research Laboratories (HERL) at University of Pittsburgh: Getting to Equal Presentation/Accenture \nThursday December 9\, 2021 1:00-2:00 p.m. \nDisability Inclusion Consortium’s fourth quarterly meeting of 2021 will be hosted by the Human Engineering and Research Laboratories (HERL) at University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Rory A Cooper\, PhD will lead with remarks. Rory A. Cooper\, Ph.D. earned B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from California Polytechnic State University\, San Luis Obispo in 1985 and 1986\, respectively. He earned a Ph.D. degree in electrical & computer engineering with a concentration in bioengineering from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1989. He is FISA & Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Professor and Distinguished Professor of the Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology\, and professor of Bioengineering\, Physical Med & Rehab\, and Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt). \nLaurie Henneborn\, Managing Director at Accenture\, a leading global professional services firm will present findings from the “Enabling Change” study (see link below). Based in New York\, Laurie leads global research and thought leadership development in the Accenture Research organization that is focused on raising awareness and taking actions pertaining to disability inclusion and equality. To that end\, she led the research for the “Enabling Change”. Laurie sits on the board of directors for the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and on the Global Disability Inclusion Advisory Council at Accenture.
